How to properly complete an application - Complete step-by-step guide

This guide walks you through every step of your rental application on Eversa. Take the time to fill out all sections carefully to maximize your chances of approval.

Before you begin

  • You will receive an invitation email with a link to access your application.

  • Click the link in the email to get started.

  • You can save your progress and come back later.

  • Have the following documents ready before you begin:

    • A photo ID

    • Proof of income (pay stubs, employment letter, etc.)

    • Contact information for your references (former landlord, employer)

Important: If you received the link on a device where you are already signed in with another account, sign out first, then click the link.

Step 1: Personal information

Fill in your basic information:

  1. Legal first and last name

  2. Phone number

  3. Living situation

  4. Current address & others

  5. Preferred language (French or English)

  6. Annual salary

  7. Accept the terms and agreements

Step 2: Consent and legal declaration

  1. Read the terms and conditions and the legal declaration.

  2. Check the required boxes to confirm your agreement.

  3. Click Submit to send your application.

Note: Verify that all information is accurate before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: References

Add your references so the manager can contact them:

Landlord reference

  • Previous landlord's name

  • Phone number

  • Previous residence address

  • Lease duration

Employer reference

  • Reference contact name

  • Title/position

  • Phone number

  • Company name

  • Start date

Tip: Let your references know in advance so they can expect a call.

Step 4: Documents

Upload the required documents. There are two categories:

Identity documents

Upload one of the following IDs:

  • Passport

  • Driver's license (front and back)

  • Provincial ID card (front and back)

  • National ID card (front and back)

  • Permanent resident card (front and back)

  • Work or study permit

  • NEXUS / EXPRES card (front and back)

  • Other government-issued ID

Income documents

Upload one of the following proofs of income:

  • Employment letter

  • Pay stubs (up to 3)

  • Tax documents

  • Bank statements (minimum 2)

  • Self-employment documents

  • Pension/retirement statement

  • Government benefits statement

  • Student financial aid

  • Other income documents

Accepted formats: JPEG, JPG, PNG, PDF Maximum size: 25 MB per file

Tip: Make sure your documents are legible and that all important information is visible. If you are using a phone, take the photo in a well-lit area.

Step 5: Credit check authorization

  1. Read the credit check authorization carefully.

  2. Enter your date of birth.

  3. Enter your social insurance number.

  4. Sign to confirm that you have read and understood the terms of the credit check.

Warning: By not providing your social insurance number, you may experience delays or difficulty obtaining a credit report, as this information helps verify your identity. If we cannot find a report, you may need to provide additional information and/or pay additional fees for us to process your application.

Note: For the Social Insurance Number (SIN), if the organization requires it, then the field will be mandatory. Otherwise, a checkbox will be available to omit submitting the SIN. If you are not comfortable sharing your number, contact the organization directly to discuss your concerns.

Good to know: The check performed is a soft check that does not affect your credit score.

Step 6: Payment (if applicable)

Some applications require a processing fee:

  1. Check the amount shown.

  2. Enter your payment information.

  3. Confirm the agreement on the application fees

  4. Confirm the payment.

Note: Not all applications require payment. This step only appears if the manager has enabled it.

Submission confirmation

After submitting your application:

  • You will see a confirmation page.

  • You will receive a confirmation email.

  • The rental manager will review your file and contact you about next steps.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit my application after submitting it? No, once submitted, you can no longer edit it. If you need to correct information, contact your agent or rental manager.

How long does processing take? The timeline varies by manager. You will receive an email notification when your file has been processed.

Is my information secure? Yes, all data is encrypted and stored securely.
